Tufan Tarcan is a professor of urology at the Faculty of Medicine of Marmara University and a visiting professor of urology at the Faculty of Medicine of Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey. After graduating from Istanbul Cerrahpaş University Faculty of Medicine and completing a residency in urology at Marmara University, he completed fellowships in adult and pediatric neurourology in the United States (at Boston University Faculty of Medicine and Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School, respectively). He holds a doctoral degree in “Histology and Embryology,” and his main areas of interest are “Functional and Female Urology” and “Lower Urinary Tract Disorders in Children.” He is a member of the “Urodynamics Committee” and the “School of Neurourology” of the International Continence Society (ICS), a member of the ICI Research Society, and a board member of the Section of Functional and Female Urology of the European Society of Urology (ESFFU). Professor Tarcan is currently president of the Turkish Continence Society and editor-in-chief of Neurourology&Urodynamics, the official journal of the ICS.
