Desiree Vrijens works as a urologist at Maastricht University Medical Center. Her specialties are functional urology and neurourology. In 2017, she defended her doctoral thesis entitled. “Lower urinary tract disorders and affective symptoms,” and is particularly interested in the interaction between the brain and the bladder. She is currently active in research on this relationship, and is also conducting research on sacral neuromodulation. In addition, she works as a lecturer at Maastricht University.
